COSTA RICA - Day 5: Despacio Por Favor!
Sean and I took our time enjoying our last breakfast with this amazing view here in Arenal. It was a beautiful morning and not as humid as the previous days, which was a good thing because we had a 4 hour drive ahead of us. Our next destination was Los Suenos Marriott Resort. We didn't have a planned itineray, but we knew the plans included jetskiing, snorkeling and a couple's massage.
We made the most of our long drive by playing games, dancing and singing and acting silly. Ok, it was more like me dancing and singing and acting silly and Sean having a good laugh. Along our drive you see a lot of signs like the one to the right that tell you to slow down. Costa Rica roads, from what I
read on the internet, are some of the worst roads in the world. The roads are very windy and narrow and you never know what's around that corner, a stalled car, an accident...so better safe than sorry. By our 4th day there, I had not seen one hospital, so I wouldn't want to know or imagine how much that would suck if we were seriously injured in a car wreck.
We were on a mission and we didn't stop for lunch in one of the cities we passed along the way because we couldn't wait to get to the Marriott. It was a little nerve racking driving through the cities as there weren't any real line defining lanes. It was more of a free for all as 4 cars enter the intersection.
As we got closer to Los Suenos, we realized it was getting more humid (as if that was even possible) just like a local woman in Fortuna had warned us. There was no escaping it either. The weather just stuck to you...it was an accessory to your outfit.
Finally, Sean's phone's GPS led us to our final destination...Los Suenos!!
